Chef of the Month: Braxton

a young boy who is smiling and looking at the camera

TBK Southlake is so excited to announce that Braxton is our Chef of the Month!  We love having Braxton in the kitchen and we can’t wait to see what he cooks up next!

Meet Braxton

  • Age: 9
  • Neighborhood: Liberty Elementary
  • First Culinary Creation: “Chocolate Chip cookies when I was 3 at preschool (with help of course) – they tasted so awesome!”
  • Favorite Recipe: “Cheese Tortellini with Mixed Veggies, Alfredo Sauce, and Mozzarella — yum!” (see his recipe below!)
  • Favorite Kitchen Utensil: “Strainer — when you’re washing grapes or draining pasta, it works great.  Also, you don’t burn your hands!”
  • Favorite Cooking Fact: “You can blow up sugar to make balls and other shapes.”
  • Wants to Cook Next: “Ice cream cake — vanilla cake with cookies and cream ice cream topped with whipped icing and sprinkles”

Quote When Learning He Was Selected: “I was so surprised to be Chef of the Month because I had no clue there was even a Chef of the Month!  I have been trying hard, paying close attention, and having fun, so it felt great”

Braxton’s Cheese Tortellini with Mixed Veggies

  • 1 bag of frozen cheese tortellini (I like the ones from Costco)
  • 1 bag frozen mixed vegetables (I like carrots, corn, and peas)
  • I jar alfredo sauce
  • Shredded mozzarella

Cook tortellini according to directions. Heat veggies and mix in with tortellini. Pour heated alfredo sauce onto tortellini and mixed veggies. Top with cheese.  Enjoy!!
